Meet the Team: Susan Hutchinson, MD

I am both a UCNS-certified headache specialist and a person with migraine. I know firsthand the disabling and unpredictable nature of migraine attacks. The driving passion in my life is to alleviate the suffering from migraine in patient’s lives and to help give them their lives back. Although there is no cure for migraine, there are many very effective treatments that can help individuals live their lives despite their migraine attacks and not “tip-toe” around them.

My background includes practicing family medicine for 21 years with a special interest in women, hormones, and migraine. In 2006, I became UCNS-certified in Headache Medicine and in 2007, I founded the Orange County Migraine & Headache Center in Irvine, Ca. Additionally, I love educating, teaching, and speaking on the subject of migraine whether the audience is health care providers, medical students, residents, media, or the lay public.

I decided to start working with Haven because I saw firsthand during the Covid-19 pandemic how effective virtual care was in treating migraine patients and I believe that Haven can play a key role in the future of headache care. I’m excited to help shape that future.
